A rock sat for years, content with its place in life. Seasons changed, temperatures rose and fell. Insects, animals, and people all walked by, sometimes stirring the rock, shifting it slightly, and the rock always would adapt. The rock stared long and hard at the bird, unable to comprehend what had caused it to cease moving. “Perhaps,” the rock thought, “he wishes to be more like me.”
