This Gray Dessert

Stacked high upon the spires of ceramic, the reddish brown water smelling of vegetables and rain, there sat a lonely fork, surveying his kingdom, ever thinking of plunging off of his high ground into the unknown depths below. What looked like certain death from his perspective was merely an opportunity to get clean and renewed, but he was too afraid to risk such a thing, too paralyzed between eternal nothingness and a lifetime of waiting. The moral of the story is that sometimes it’s the right choice to give up.
