Except in the case of snow, morning weather is always so incomplete without the whoosh of cars commuting. Snow is meant to remain untouched, unplowed, blanketing the earth, and as such, any efforts by traffic to move through it despoil it to the point at which it is thoroughly unenjoyable. Rain, wind, clouds, even sun, however — all these are nice if you wake up to experience them, but it is the addition of people having to move through them to get to their jobs, to take the children to school, to begin a trip, that make these phenomenons fill the soul with satisfaction. Otherwise, one can find little reason to not simply return to bed and drift back into hours of sleep.
