Relinquishing Control

In Dr. Strangelove, the decision makers on either side of the Cold War do everything they can to prevent nuclear warfare escalated by their own prior actions, but one damaged plane is oblivious to the change of plans and carries through. It’s the same for unprotected sexual action, or any other situation that goes unresolved. Once you’re at DEFCON 1, you can take every precaution you’ve got, but things have been so far set in motion that you can’t account for every little possibility. Hence the important of preparing and handling your concerns as soon as possible. Failure to do so can result in unintended consequences and the general devolution of life as you know it. So when something comes up in your daily activity, address it at the earliest chance and not a moment later. Anything less could put you at the mercy of forces upon which you can not exert direct action. And that is a miserable place to be.
