Grand Champion

I’ve always wanted to be the best at something, even if it’s for a short amount of time. And you can localize it down as much as you like. I’m pretty sure I could win a Counter-Strike tournament against my immediate family, but then, what is that really proving, right? No, world’s greatest is the title that so many seek, but when you consider even with the number of things possible that a person can do, and how many people there are in the world, any moment is not likely to come, however fleeting. If you really want to be the best at something, then invent something. Your world record will be brief thanks to a lack of peripheral vision and closed-minded thinking as to how the workings of your device, sport, or competition are meant to be construed, but you’ll have an eye-rolling asterisk of a moment in the sun as only you understand how to do something. Then the talented ones come in, and you’ll never have that kiss of glory again. Not that it will be glorious because you’ll not have actually triumphed in order to receive it.
