King for a Minute

I know I’ve talked about this before (also I’ve been doing way too much stream of consciousness as opposed to creative writing here, but that’s what happens when you’re in a hurry, when you’re task-oriented versus process-oriented, etc.) but when things don’t work right, it bugs me. Not in the helpless, damn technology kind of way, but in the “Well, if this doesn’t work, I need to fix it now” kind of way. Problem is that my skill set limits me greatly as to what sorts of things, physical or otherwise, I am capable of repairing. I’m not a tradesman, never have been. Not very good with tools, can’t do electrical work, or plumbing, can barely keep my own shit together. And yet for some reason the moment something’s not working right I feel compelled to put those non-existent skills to work and make a big old mess of things. So I’m staying my hand this morning, tempted as I am to try and fix things, and just letting things malfunction for the moment. Maybe when I feel more brave I will give it a shot. For now, moving on to other things. Did seem to have fixed my computer though, so that’s pretty rad.
