One Last Thing

Someone said to me the other day “It must have been awesome growing up in the 80s and 90s.” I mean, was it? I enjoyed it, but I think it’s easy to be nostalgic for childhood under most circumstances, healthy ones at least. As long as there’s food on your table, a roof over your head, and no war on your streets, childhood is something that is pretty universally fun to reminisce about. Everybody thinks their time was the best, and the honest answer is that it was. They were all the best. Whether you were out playing in the streets until sundown or watching cartoons with sugar cereal on Saturday morning or working the fields so your family could eat. Whether you listed to psychedelia on the hi-fi or dubstep on the iPhone, you love the same, you watch the stars the same, you sweat and laugh the same. Humanity is more universal than people think because the human mind is a comparative one.
